Breyer Christmas Letter 2023

Dear business partners and friends of BREYER,

Looking back on the year 2023, the numerous conflicts in the international community of nations sadly show us that intentional confrontation and provocation quickly trigger the appropriate reactions. All too often, ideological motivations – not humane ones – stand in the spotlight, which prevents the development of a mutually beneficial solution and not only burdens people but also economic relations between the involved countries, regions and, increasingly, global cooperation. 

May the following story help us to enlighten our relations by treating each other with humanity and seeing the other person as a human to be respected: 

A master asked his students: “Can you tell me how to define the hour in which night ends and the day begins?” One of them believed he knew the answer: “Perhaps when you can distinguish a dog from a sheep from a distance?” 

“No,” replied the master. Another student thought he knew the answer: “When you can distinguish a date tree from a fig tree!” Several other answers were given, and the master rejected all of them. Finally, he said: “Well, let me tell you: The day begins when you can look at the face of another person and recognize your brother or sister in it. Until then, the night is still with us.” 

In the past year, we were happy to have had a lot of positive experiences in the cooperation with our business partners and customers worldwide, for which we are very grateful. 

We therefore want to sincerely thank you at the end of the year 2023 for the successful cooperation characterised by mutual trust and partnership. We would be delighted to continue having your trust next year, as well. 

 

We wish you and your family a peaceful and blessed Christmas holiday season, and the tranquility and respite from which to draw strength for the tasks that 2024 will bring.
